On the Catchability Coefficient of Abalone Fisheries

註釋The harvest of abalone is carried out in July and August in the southern districts of the Akita Prefecture by the naked diving method. This study used catch data of the abalone harvest in July for the Kisakata region, results of interviews conducted among the operators, and data on abalone and oyster prices, as well as meteorological data, to discuss the importance of factors causing fluctuations in abalone catch efficiency from 1985-87. The skill and experience of the divers was particularly taken into account.
