Carl von Ossietzky
註釋A biography of the German pacifist, editor of the "Weltbühne", who died in 1938 after brutal treatment in Nazi concentration camps. Describes his relations with Kurt Tucholsky and other Jewish colleagues. On pp. 213-216, summarizes his essay "Antisemiten", published in the "Weltbühne" on 19 July 1932, in which Ossietzky traces the history of antisemitism, especially that directed against Jewish "corruption" of the German spirit and culture, and shows the affinity between it and Nazism.
