註釋
This article is the third in the series of four articles adapted from the author's doctoral dissertation. This article reviews the typology of paradigms proposed by Burrell and Morgan and Gruba and Lincoln which are normally engaged in social science research. Each paradigm is determined by its respective philosophies. These philosophies are critically reviewed to find compatibility with the Catholic Magisterium. They are found to be linear or at most two-dimensional visions in realism, not adequate for research of the Common Good. The Common Good must be viewed by the Trinitarian perspective which is three dimensional. In addition, the paradigm must allow for quantitative research into theological interests which are currently held hostage by positivism. The author engages Pitirim Sorokin's integral philosophy in integral paradigm proposed by Vincent Jeffries for this research, in order to enable the results obtained from quantitative methodology in synthesis of the theological and philosophical arguments required for the Common Good.
