註釋William McGaughey/y (d. ca. 1750) was the first in this family to come to America. He was born in Northern Ireland and sailed from Glasgow, Scotland to America ca. 1738. He married Margaret in Scotland. In 1745 the tract of land was assigned to William McGaughney in Hamilton Ban Township, York Co., Pennsylvania. Descendants live in Pennsylvania, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, Illinois, Colorado and elsewhere.
