註釋This is the most comprehensive history of Russian literary and political emigration covering centuries of Russian history. Special attention is given to the Soviet period (1817-1991). The book includes 125-page chronology, 28-page bibliography, 75-page annotated names list. Professor Glad has been collecting data for this study for about 25 years. He is the former Director of Kennan Institute. His books include Literature in Exile, Twentieth Century Russian Poetry, and others. His translation of Shalamov's Kolyma Tales was published by Penguin Modern Classics.
