註釋An unpublished volume of transcribed letters written by James Bruce Campbell to his mother and family in Coal City, Illinois while he was stationed at various locations in the US and England during World War II. Campbell enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in the summer of 1942 and in August of that year became an aviation cadet. In August, 1943 he was appointed 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. He was killed in action over Stendal, Germany on April 8, 1944.--Adapted from introduction and epilogue. Contains a list of training grounds to which Campbell was assigned.
