Grass Dance of the Spirit Lake Dakota
註釋Originally known as the "Omaha Dance," and arriving among the Dakota of Spirit Lake by 1870, the Grass Dance is much more than a dance. It is a male fraternal organization with warrior society roots. Louis Garcia, a scholar of Dakota cultural history, documents the organization, ceremonies, and dance halls of the Grass Dance, including the development of a women's dance society and the transition into modern powwows.
