The notes and articles pertain to natural oils, eucalypts, wool, plastics and others aspects of chemistry. The collection also includes papers relating to A.R. Penfold's visit to China in 1956. It includes correspondence with C.P. Fitzgerald, his wife Eunice Penfold, and the Chinese People's Association for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries. Also includes notebooks, typed notes, a report on his visit to China, journal articles, theatre programs, postcards, other miscellaneous items from China, photographs of Canberra in the 1920s and letters from Lorna Mary Gardner to her mother written during the former visit to Europe in 1914-1915.
