註釋The lack of information in the historiography of the Holocaust about KZ Gusen I, II and III, and the Messerschmitt 262 final fuselage assembly plant in the Bergkristall tunnel system has been blamed on secrecy caused by a Cold War struggle for Upper Austria, by the failure of the Allies to prepare for the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps, and by General George S. Patton's preference to seize Prague and fight the Soviets over caring for displaced persons. This dissertation examines these myths in light of diplomatic and military documents and then revises the narrative of the liberation of the camps in Austria by placing survivor and liberator testimony in the context of military documents.
