Hard red cover with red binding. Label on the front has 'PENICILLIN 9th October, 1945' written on it. Label inside the back cover for 'W. Isacke, Printer, Stationer, Account Book Maker. 133, Praed Street, W.2.' Most of the work in this notebook is focused on penicillin, with experiments based on samples taken from individuals. Fleming has noted the name of the person, where the samples were taken from on the body and a description of the bacterium's growth. The notebook also houses notes on other experiments that are linked with penicillin.
