Ultimate Disposal of Textile Dyes
註釋Ultimate disposal of any industrial organic occurs only when the compound has been mineralised to simple inorganic species such as water, carbon dioxide, sulphates and nitrates. Dye molecules are designed to be stable, giving lasting colours; in wastewater treatment the reverse property is desired. Due to dye recalcitrance the commonly used biological wastewater treatment processes are ineffective for colour removal. In this study, a culture produced by acclimation of sewage and soil microorganisms, which is capable of biodegrading azo dyes has been used in continuous and sequencing batch biodecolourising processes. Complete decolourisation of feed wastewater has been found possible. [Author's abstract].
