註釋Behavioral economics solutions have surfaced in recent years to provide cost-neutral improvements to policies and products. Behavioral models have proven successful at predicting human behavior and in recent years, behavioral economic solutions have been operationalized in numerous cases. Based on these observations, this paper analyses the implications of behavioral economics on one field, which still greatly lacks behavioral solutions - development aid. The paper bases its key arguments on an analysis of recent behavioral economic theories as well as the history of development aid over the last six decades. Furthermore, by discussing several field studies designed with elements of behavioral economic models, it provides a perspective for the further, increased development of behavioral applications. By developing a hypothetical variation of a real-life field study, the paper shows the simplicity and effectiveness of applying behavioral tools in a development context, and fosters a discussion on a systematic replication of this approach.
