In this speech broadcast over WABC radio on Dec. 10, 1934, President Franklin Roosevelt maintains that crime is a complex problem which requires the country to use every resource available to fight it. Speaking before the attorney general's conference on crime, the president also stresses the need for specialized training of crime-fighting personnel.
