Buried Valleys in Central and Southern Alberta
註釋"The buried valleys shown on the accompanying map were studied between 1946 and 1959 while the writer was engaged in examining surficial deposits on the western plains. Information was obtained from water-well logs or directly from drillers, from seismic shot-hole logs of oil companies, from topographic maps, air photos and air-photo mosaics, and from exposures along the banks of present-day rivers. The last was the best source of information, particularly where the modern channels cross buried valleys. At such places good sections of the deposits in the valleys are exposed, and it was possible to follow the slopes of the bedrock surface of the old valley walls from the prairie level into the immediate preglacial channels." --
