By means of a parallel narrativetext and imageone seems to be answering questions with more questions. Traversing images (their repetitions, rhythms, and variations), like traversing generations (parents, spouses, children), tend to reveal answers that only hold true within a specific context. Here, the story of a man searching for clues in an image of his parents finds a reality at odds with his own mental images. His apprehension of things in the world: trucks, doorways, and fences, traverse a ground of things that might be considered real with artifice, leaving him with the sense that images lead only to more images.
