Residential Work
註釋This second volume documenting the residential work of Anthony Ames follows Five Houses, the first volume in a series. It records his simple but elegant residential work in both built form and projects, through line drawings, renderings, models and photographs. His carefully designed structures investigate, thoughtfully, critically and didactically, the discipline of architecture as practiced in the modern idiom-informed by precedent, inspired by possibility, and tempered by rational thought. They are presented here with an insightful introduction by Val Warke. Anthony Ames has maintained an architectural practice in Atlanta, Georgia since 1976, although the majority of his work is elsewhere. He graduated from Georgia Tech and the Harvard Graduate School of Design and has taught at eleven universities and lectured at many more. Ames, a fellow of the American Academy in Rome and of the American Institute of Architects, has received numerous awards and has been widely published.
