The Identity of Hispanoamerica
註釋Seeks to discover in Spanish American colonial writing the roots of Hispanoamerican social and cultural identity. Drawing on the literature of the European Middle Ages and early Renaissance--particularly on medieval notions of "the good house" in the Great Chain of Being--Promis describes the transference of Iberian literary and cultural ideals to the Americas and their subsequent transformation into Latin American colonial forms.
