Palms
註釋Threats to the continued survival of species include loss of lowland rain forest to logging and clear-felling and commercial collection of valuable species such as rattans and ornamentals. Although about half the species grow in national parks, these species tend to be the common and widespread ones. Rare and endangered species, which have local distributions, are therefore not protected. At present there is no legislation in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah to control the export of high value endangered or rare ornamental palms and in Sarawak legislation does not appear to be enforced.
