Dedication to Duty
註釋William Irving was shot on a train near Sudbury in June of 1904 while arresting a suspect. James McFadden was killed on the side of the highway near Chatham on December 31, 1999, when his cruiser was rammed from behind while he wrote a ticket. These two incidents, more than ninety-five years apart, frame a century of service and sacrifice. Officers of the Ontario Provincial Police have been putting their lives on the line for their province and its citizens since the force was established. The Ontario Provincial Police Honour Roll preserves the names and badge numbers of the 78 officers who have given their lives on duty. This book contains the human stories behind those bare facts.
