The letters discuss personal financial and family matters, including arrangements for shipping and selling belongings; the changing values of Adams's mining stocks, which include holdings with Crown Point and Julia mines; prospects for employment, which includes work with the Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR); and Adams's plans to go to Ariz., particularly to Prescott, presumably in search of gold. With these are a letter to Idella from her grandmother, S. Adams, dated Mar. 17, 1877, written from N.H., and a postcard from Mrs. Slater to Mrs. Adams.
