Siblings
註釋Perhaps it is the secret wish of every photographer to peel off the veneer of everyman, to discover an absolute truth beneath the surface. For Robert Rosen, established society and portrait photographer who has covered over a million 'interesting faces' in a career spanning two decades that desire culminated in a series of unforgettable portraits of siblings in the nude. The willingness of Sydney society to pose nude for Siblings was testimony to the faith and friendship in Robert. Many of the subjects had never posed nude before. So writes Nicole Lehmann in the Foreword to this book which is based on Robert Rosen's 1993 exhibition of the same title. It is not however, the book of the exhibition. In the intervening period he has extended his original list of subjects and the book contains many photographs which have not been exhibited or seen before. It extends the very clever concept of Siblings, the origin of which is explained by Robert Rosen in his introduction. This book is a celebration of this photographer's remarkable imagination, his inventiveness and his persistence and features one hundred and seventeen diverse and interesting people.
