"Oui, the Maudlin Dogs is my first collection of poems. They're something I've found worthwhile, like jumping from around a corner to scare my husband, or driving fast enough to get an expensive ticket, or draping a scarf over my cat's head to make him resemble Mother Theresa. The theme of the poems is nothing, really, but pieces of my history. I've attempted to place them neatly in little chunks suitable for me to read aloud to my octogenarian spouse during our golden years. Oh, and a quick message to myself: Julie, if you're reading this thing yet again decades from now, and you've become an old lady with doilies and orange lipstick and a tendency to cuss at the paperboy, lighten up." -Abstract.
