註釋This third volume of the series analyses the restoration of 6 "bandeirista" (bandeirantes-style) ranch houses of colonial explorers done by the IPHAN (Institute of National Historic and Artistic Patrimony) and the DPH (Department of Historic Patrimony of the Prefeitura) from 1954 to 2000 in different locations of Sao Paulo. The book is organized in two main chapters: the first section examines in detail the construction and their historical context and a second section analyses the restoration methodology, the earthen building components and the archaeological remains of the following houses: Casa do Butanta, Casa do Caxingui, Sítio da Ressaca, Casa do Tatuapé and Sítio Morrinhos. Illustrated with many period and present day photographs.
