What's in a Title? Predictors of the Productivity of Publications
註釋This paper examines the impact of titles and other characteristics of published economics articles on the ultimate success of these articles, as measured by their cumulative citations over the six year period following their publication. Interestingly, poetic titles are pivotal to the productivity of published empirical papers, but detrimental to that of theoretical papers. Another finding of general interest is that the reputation of authors and their institutions counts much more toward the success of empirical papers than toward that of theoretical papers.
