註釋This book project has been created through various forms of research. The entire project is based on the idea of Intimacy and how this controversial concept can be performed and expressed. This book is my personal view and analysis of this concept. Everything that you will find inside is created from an initial curiosity and realised through the research of photography to deliver a unique and solid concept. I have worked on this project and idea since late 2015, going through a difficult process of acceptance and realization. Through the journey within this book you will be able to understand and analyze different aspects of your own intimacy and compare in parallel to the intimacy expressed in this book. This piece of work is focused on the female subject. All subjects are uniquely expressing themselves through my lens, sometimes performing and other times naturally sharing it with me. Through the editing and sequencing of a large body of images I was able to form a series of threads that created the project's subject matter : isolation, gentrification, appropriation, grotesque and nudity. I believe this reflects and echoes a Freudian sense of the subconscious. The main idea became real after I started to shoot a group of friends in my home town, Rome. Through this I started to understand how subtle movements and small personal moments can have a large effect. Without actively meaning to they can tell a profound and private story. There is not a right order to the book. I decided to edit all the images under one concept and this is the reason why I created one single piece of work. The photobook was the project's chosen medium as it helped to facilitate a coherent form to the subject matter. I tried to create something easy to see but at the same time introspective and peculiar. With each read, my aim was to create the idea of Intimacy and allow the viewer to analyse each image on a personal level without the distraction of text and words.
