Extract: This paper presents a brief study of the economic feasibility of second crop (i.e., ratoon) rice production in Liberty and Chambers counties. The sensitivity of economic feasibility is examined for several combinations of water costs ($/acre foot) and water use (acre feet/acre). Economic analyses are conducted for different levels of management intensity and associated levels of realized harvested yields for each. In addition, the sensitivity of the results are analyzed for different land tenure arrangements.
