Ancestral families of the author, Allen Monroe Ergood. He was born in 1897 at Washington, D.C., the son of Jesse Lusby and Mary Blanche Kepner. Jesse Lusby Ergood was born in 1873 at Washington, D.C., the son of Jesse Chandlee Ergood (1841-1916) and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Lusby (1845-1902). He married Mary Blanche Kepner in 1896 at Washington, D.C. They had two sons, 1897-1902. Mary Blanche Kepner was born in 1874 at Washington, D.C., the daughter of John Price Kepner (1840-1881) and Augusta T. Massey (1845-1888).
