This report describes a trial installation of a modified singlesurface treatment system which consists of spraying oneapplication of emulsified asphalt followed by two applications ofaggregate, both aggregate applications being spread beforerolling. The purpose of the trial was to assess the system as acost saving alternative to the current practice of resurfacinghighways with hot mix asphaltic concrete, and assess the newconstruction techniques and equipment.
