Computer Calculations of the Adsorption Isotherms and the Heat of Immersion from Solutions
註釋The surface excess and the heat of immersion in the adsorption from binary mixtures on the active carbon surface were calculated considering the Gibbs adsorption equation and the ratio of the surface areas occupied by the adsorbed molecules. In the derivation of the equations for the surface excess and the heat of immersion, the intermolecular interactions between the surface molecules and the bulk molecules, and the orientational states of adsorbed molecules were incorporated for the nonideality of the bulk phase and its surface phase. Following the algorithm of the thermodynamic model, the UNIQUAC equation satisfactorilly predicted the excess data, and the heat of immersion only with the adsorption parameters.[Authors' abstract].
