Field notes Vol. 871 documents Noel H. Holmgren's botanical collecting in the U.S. Intermountain West in 1964 on a New York Botanical Garden expedition, with co-collector James L. Reveal. The notebook contains a list of specimen numbers 850-1475, collected June 3-July 15, 1964. The list contains date, state, county, locality information (such as mountain range or valley, canyon, highway, miles from ...), elevation, habitat, abundance, association, and description. The facing page contains herbarium determination. Locations include Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. A typewritten version of the same specimen information can be found in Field notes Vol. 876, and all of Holmgren's collections are listed in a Microsoft Access database available at the NYBG Archives.
