註釋"The objective of this thesis, by a thorough analysis of the Eastern Front and the European war during 1943, is to conclusively prove that the Battle of Kursk marked the decisive turning point in the huge conflict between Germany and the U.S.S.R. Besides the Eastern combat operations, other key political and military events of that critical year are evaluated to further show that the Allies did not confront Germany with a powerful land, sea and air threat until mid-1943. The strategic results of the Kursk campaign, timed with these other Allied successes, also revealed that only in its aftermath was Germany irrevocably placed on the path towards ultimate defeat and the Soviet Union towards full status as a world power"--Abstract
