註釋Written for teachers and students, Outside is about the importance of belonging, the choice between trusting authority or trusting your gut, and the danger of letting yourself become just another data point.

Fifteen-year-old Dylan and his younger brother are homeless, sleeping most of their nights in a tent. When Dylan stops an act of violence at school, putting the perpetrator into a coma, no place is safe for him anymore. To escape the media, and to cope with his PTSD, Dylan accepts an offer from an education philanthropist to be part of an elite leadership camp in Alaska.

In Alaska, Dylan meets five other teens. Together they embark on a series of wilderness survival tasks - but when Dylan discovers one of their secrets, and reveals it to the camp's leader, the man becomes unhinged, endangering everyone. Dylan is forced to face a truth he thought was as good as dead.
