註釋Papers document Nathan Matthews' activities in state and city politics from 1888 to 1893. Most of the materials pertain to three of his four terms as Mayor of Boston, including copies of official outgoing correspondence, documents such as municipal reports and public addresses concerning rapid transit planning and other issues Matthews was involved in, and clippings. Also some correspondence, printed speeches, broadsides and other items reflecting Matthews' role in the Young Men's Democratic Club during the year of 1888 and the Democratic Platform and the Democratic State Committee in 1889. Collection is contained in 15 bound volumes, each with a table of contents.
