The Best of All Worlds
註釋The Best of All Worlds is the first full-length book translation from the Italian of the poetry of Alessandro Rosada. Owner and director of one of Europe's foremost art galleries, Galleria Torbandena, Rosada is the author of seven books, all published in Italy by the gallery's imprint. This book, originally published in 2018 and titled Pulcis in fundo, is an exquisite collection of eighteen poems, dedicated to the dogs in Rosada's life. Yet, as translator Anthony Molino notes in his introduction to the book, "this is not to say that the book will appeal solely to the dog-lover; far from it. For the book? is about love." Handsomely illustrated by noted Italian artist Oreste Zevola, this special edition replicates the remarkable design of the Italian edition and is enriched not only by Zevola's refined drawings but by compelling photographs of the pups Rosada writes about as well. As Sue Brannan Walker, NCP publisher, writes in her foreword to the book, "The Best of All Worlds marks a collaborative effort that spans an ocean and conjoins a passion for poetry that unites Italy and America, in a book that transports those who love art, poetry and pups into an earthly paradise."
