註釋Data base management systems or DBMS's have come into vogue in recent years, as their numbers and usage have increased tremendously in a very short time. This book is written mainly for the DBMS user or prospective user, and presents readers with an overall view of DBMS requirements, capabilities, and existing features. It presents data base management as a unified subject, not a collection of unrelated approaches and techniques. The text focuses on the facilities and data-structuring provided by DBMS's. In what the authors hope is a concise overview of the DBMS area, the first part of the book deals with basic concepts and organizations, and the second part with particular systems which evolve continually.
