Consists of the correspondence of James L. Thielman primarily with book binders. A few files, notably with Lucien Goldschmidt, Barnet Kottler, and Maggs Brothers, involve offers of fine bindings by book dealers. Mr. Thielman's collection of 80 designer bindings was acquired by the Lilly Library in 1998. Included in the binders' correspondence are James Brockman, Jeff Clements, Sün Evrard, Donald Glaister, Paula Gourley, Edward Gray, Elizabeth Greenhill, Arthur Johnson, Alain Lobstein, Denise Lubett, Bernard Middleton, Roger Powell, Silvia Rennie, Ivo Robinson, Philip Smith, Sally Lou Smith, and Michael Wilcox.
