註釋
This report contains data from full-scale wind-tunnel tests of the Ryan Precision Drop Glider (Model 195). The tests were conducted from 31 October 1966 through 10 November 1966 in the NASA 30 x 60-foot, open-throat wind tunnel at Langley, Virginia. Lift, drag and suspension line load data were obtained for three basic rigging configurations over a range of center-of-gravity positions at test dynamic pressures ranging from 2.72 to 4.94 pounds per square foot. The best L/D obtained during test was 2.55, and several recommendations were made for further improvement of this figure. The present flap type lateral control was found to be satisfactory and superior to other methods tested, but truncation of the flap may be found to improve response. Longitudinal stability was positive but close to neutral. The vehicle was found to be sensitive to small variations in rigging. Any asymmetrics in rigging greater than 1/2 inch would have a noticeable effect on lateral trim.
