From the Abstract: In this study the proliferation of Operations Research in Canadian businesses is examined. In the first part we explore the number of companies and employees involved in mathematical modeling. In the second part, the specific Operations Research activities are discussed and in the last part we inquire about the career opportunities in our field as well as about its general future as perceived by those who are directly involved in its practice. Whenever possible, our results are compared with those in the literature.
