註釋Princess Ann was a town in southeast Robeson County, North Carolina. The town was established in 1796 on lands owned by Mary Griffin and William P. Ashley. William Pinckney Ashley was born in 1761. He married Mary Griffin sometime before 1792. The couple had six children. The family left North Carolina in 1817 and moved to Alabama.
