Anna Gardner
註釋Anna Gardner (1816-1901) was an abolitionist, suffragist and freedmen's teacher. She was instrumental in integrating the Nantucket public schools in the 1840s. During the Civil War and Reconstruction she spent a dozen years in freedmen's schools establishing Normal classes to train black teachers. Her most famous school was the Jefferson School in Charlottesville, Virginia.
