MS 5115 Rachel Perkins
註釋Radiance is a low budget film shot in 1997, which had an Australia wide commercial release through United Pictures. Adapted from Louis Nowra's stage play of the same name, Radiance was the third feature to be directed by, and the first to be shot by, Indigenous Australians. It was screened on SBS and was nominated for seven Australian Film Institute awards; it won the AFI award for best actress for Deborah Mailman. It was an audience favourite at Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra film festivals; international festival screenings included the London and Toronto film festivals. Radiance tells the story of three young Aboriginal women who return home to the northern Queensland coast were they grew up, for their mother's funeral. MS 5115 is Rachel Perkins' record of Radiance production and post-production, and her involvement in the National Indigenous Media Association of Australia, including the National Indigenous Feature Film Fund. MS 5115 also includes correspondence with other Indigenous film-makers, particularly from Aetoroa/New Zealand, and pamphlets and brochures from international Indigenous film festivals.
