註釋
Papers consist of approximately 500 letters written by Mary Robinson Morton in the period 1790-1829 mostly from Philadelphia to her family in Rhode Island, including her parents, Thomas and Sarah Richardson Robinson, Sister Abigail and brothers Thomas and Rowland and sister Amy R. Bowne in New York. The letters are primarily of a personal and family nature, reflecting the social and cultural attitudes of the day, touching occasionally on the Hicksite controversy and yellow fever epidemic of 1793 and 1798. These letters have been transcribed as have other letters, the originals of which are currently housed elsewhere. The latter include letters of the French officer Vicomte de Noailles to Mary Robinson during the Revolutionary War. There is also genealogical information, the poetry of Mary Morton and Amy Bowne and other miscellany.
