This workbook is the second in the "Focus On" series. It takes first semester college students through the process of understanding, explaining and applying the content in their college textbooks. It is broken into four key parts to achieve this: Part 1: Reading and Restating, Part 2: Essay Writing, Part 3: Applications, and Part 4: Language Mechanics. Students will be presented with a variety of textbook excerpts on which to practice and perfect these skills. The applications may be done in either a group setting or individually with peer feedback.
