Joshua, Judges, and Ruth
註釋The Books of Joshua and Judges cover the history of Israel’s conquest of the Promised Land, division of the land among the tribes, and the appointment of judges to serve as leaders. Joshua, who followed God faithfully, records the military campaigns led by Joshua in conquering the Promised Land. It concludes with the division of the land among the tribes. Under the judges, the cycle so common in Israel's history (rebellion, retribution, repentance, and restoration) occurs repeatedly. The Book of Ruth contains early events from within the time of the judges. Joshua is a book of victory; Judges is a book of defeat. Ruth provides a glimmer of hope.
