Players would stand in a line, kick a ball, wait for direction. While this may be an effi cient way to teach a skill, in a game scenario, it was disastrous. She witnessed players kick the ball during matches then turn to the sideline for future instruction. She noticed that the players had mastered tasks but didn't understand the game application.
