Involving Private Employers in CETA Programs
註釋This monograph outlines the findings and results of a series of studies focusing on strategies employed by prime sponsors for increasing the participation of private sector employers in local CETA programs. The data were collected from intensive case studies in nine CETA prime sponsor locations with records of successful cooperation with business firms. The monograph points out that the various strategies employed by the prime sponsor to link CETA to the business community are very significant in getting private employer participation in hiring, training, and planning in the public employment and training program. Emphasis is given to the need for reduction of "red tape," and the necessity of prime sponsor coordination with the local economic development efforts. Observations and specific recommendations for improving prime sponsor activities with the private business sector are included for review and recommendation.
