註釋
This text covers primary information necessary for the design of thermal-fluid systems. It is intended for use in a senior-level, capstone thermal-fluid system design course in mechanical engineering. Synthesis and sizing of a system to solve a major design problem is permitted by the text's format. Emphasis is placed on the synthesis of components into a thermal-fluid system to accomplish a specified task with technical, economical, and social constraints. Techniques useful in developing and reporting the conceptualization and refinement of schemes for such systems are illustrated in the first chapter. Component characteristics and figures of merit, engineering, economy, optimization, reliability, and safety and liability are contained in the next five chapters. The final chapter provides a detailed description of the steps, including computer-aided simulations, responsible for a feasible solution of an illustrative design problem.
