The Playboy of the Western World (Illustrated)
註釋Irish playwright Edmund John Millington Synge was also a poet, travel writer and co-founder of the Abbey Theatre. His work often involves Ireland’s Roman Catholic peasants and he is best known for his popular play The Playboy of the Western World. While it is studied in universities now, the play caused riots in Dublin when it opened in 1907.
