This report examines in more detail how environmental accounts have played and still play a role in Dutch policy on water (focusing on the Dutch implementation of the European Water Framework Directive) and energy (focusing on the Dutch Energy Agreement). We assessed how the environmental accounts were used in the three policy phases of awareness raising, policy preparation and policy monitoring.
