In many circumstances good practices are already in place, although there are always some areas that can be developed. It is increasingly being recognized that nutrition and growth in early life have an impact on subsequent health and development. It is therefore important that comparative trials of infant formulas include larger groups of infants followed up for longer periods than is now generally the case.
